Micro hydro electric ... want to discuss new technology?

My intitial question is related to using an electric motor for a generator.

I'm scrapping out some Industrial equipment and have low cost acces to a

480 Volt 3 Phase, 10 hp Motor with a 10 to 1 Gear Box all mounted to huge plate.

My question is would this be a good start for a Hydo setup or should I pass on the deal?

I would like to be able to power atleast (1) low energy home...
