IvanDrew,

There are probably a few more ways of connecting wood SIPs to one another. None of them are best. They all have there application depending on the projects needs. 1 is good for additional strength, 2 is more economical, 3 provides an energy efficient joint but is more labor intensive and 4 provides an energy efficient joint but is more costly. The best panel joint would be on the best panel for the best price.

JeffD,

thanks for the answer, i guess the third way is the cheapest way, you know , labor is low cost in my country.
what if i build a 2 level house? i was wondering maybe i should use the 1th way for the first floor and use the 3th way for
the second floor.

IvanDrew,

I would not concern myself with the type of panel joint yet. I would first find a high quality panel from a high quality company for a fair price. Then that company will advise you on the joint types they offer and the engineering necessary for your project. Also, a doubled 2x spline is not necessarily required for a two story design.

JeffD,

i kinda understand what you are saying, but the problem is that we got no manufacturer for sips in our country, we do all the jobs: design, constructional design, after that , we buy OSB and EPS to make sips in our factory, and then install house.all the above jobs are done by only one company which is not like ,you know,in your country, you can just buy high quality panel from your manufacturer.

anyway, thx for you help.appreciate that.

This is the best with no thermal transfer and no fasteners needed
