Anyone, we are planning an extensive remodel on a house built in the early 90's. The exterior walls are SIPS. I'd like to hear thoughts or recommendations regarding this type of remodel. We are planning to build several new exterior walls and move some existing windows/doors. We are on I tight budget and would like an honest opinion regarding new SIPS walls vs Stick and Batt construction. Reference to building codes would also be helpful. Thanks.

You wouldn't happen to know the manufacturer and type of SIP? Adding new doors/windows shouldn't be any more difficult than cutting them into a blank panel in a new build. And if your new exterior walls are the same thickness, you could possibly use the cutouts to infill on the old walls.

It would be a shame to compromise your existing SIPs home with an inferior addition.
don't be pennywise and pound foolish!
The difference would be insignificant

TravisJ, ACH Foam Technologies is a licensed R-Control SIP manufacturer in Denver. Maybe they can refer you to someone nearby who can answer your questions, and perhaps help you with whatever materials and/or services that you may require.
