Window bucks around the RO taped back to the WRB, or set the windows back in plane with the sheathing plane and trim the windows out with exterior trim jamb extensions:
http://sustainable.cchrc.org/docs/REMOTE_Manual.pdfBuilding Science recommends taping the window flanges to the face of foam, but that feels very risky to me. We recommend treating the building as if it would remain completely waterproof if it had no foam, siding or trim.
What is the suggested method for brick? If the window flange is taped to the face of the foam, this would be no different than osb... but if the flange of the window is set back in plane of the framing how does the brick finish out around the window when you have a couple inches of foam board? Would you build a 2x window frame/bucks like mentioned in the REMOTE website and having the brick over the 1.5" face, then either install an exterior trim extension or wrap with aluminum?
