we just finalized our house plan!

The builder is bidding it out as we speak - I'm interested / nervous to see how the bid for serious windows comes back....

thanks! we're pretty happy with the way it came out. Only about 4 years in the making... I'm working with a place in MI right now to get bids on Northstar windows, too. They're fiberglass vs. vinyl, but the u * shgc numbers look very good - and I was told they will price out comparable to Anderson or Pella. I can post something when I get my window numbers back, that seems to be a hot topic here lately..

Hello jerkylips. Congratulations on a big milestone! I do like your plan. As one who is serious about Serious, I look forward to hearing what you get back on the window costs. Regards, Steve

Have you seen an actual Northstar window yet? Make sure you look over the oak interior option if you are considering that, in my opinion it's a horrible attempt at looking like wood, it looks like plastic, which makes perfect sense. I've seen firsthand a couple of different vinyl makers try to do a fake wood interior and it always looks like cheap trailer home junk.

Thanks for the warning! We are planning to do white millwork, so the whether we go wood, vinyl, or fiberglass, the windows are going to be white. If we wanted wood interiors, that would definitely be a concern, though..

Northstar are nice windows. Marvin also has a nice fiberlass window as well.
